Phoenix Link Building Consultant

You need links.

I know how to get links.

Sounds like a match made in heaven (and to make it more heavenly … I'm based here in Phoenix, not India, or the Phillipines, where many companies outsource their link building).

OK, here are my rules of link building:

Dave's Link Building Rules

Rule #1) Before building a single link, you need to know the quantity and quality of the links the top sites have.

Rule #2) You need to be aware of what types of links they have and know things like: Are they buying links, are they using guest posts, or social bookmarks, or forum spamming, etc.

Rule #3) Based on the findings of #1 and #2, it's my responsibility to make recommendations and let you know the risks and rewards of each recommendation

Here are things we will not talk about:

  • Black hat vs. white hat
  • Whether or not something is 'ethical'

I will get this out of the way now:

There is no such thing as 'black hat' or 'white hat'.  There are only shades of gray.  (Hat tip to Aaron Wall for the quote)

Tactics either work or they don't work, and every tactic carries a risk.

More aggressive tactics are riskier, more effective, and work quicker.

More conservative tactics are inherently less risky, are generally less effective, and work slower.

Neither tactic is preferable and is 100% based on your business goals and your tolerance for risk.

If you're buildilng links for your company website you'll probably want to be on the conservative side.

If you're buildling links for a microsite or less important site you can probably be more aggressive.

But either way, it's my responsibility as a consultant to let you know all of your options (risky and conservative) and provide my recommendations based on conversations we've had about your business goals and timeline.
